Bursa: February 2, 1938 During my recent visit, I was deeply touched by the love and respect manifested in me by all the citizens of your beautiful city, and by all official and private establishments of Bursa. I was also deeply moved by the Bursa people's high level of hospitality who accommodated me in Çelik Palas, created with clean comfort and a contemporary mentality. Here, I observed striking evidences showing Turkish nation's political and civil supremacy. I would appreciate your relaying my thoughts and thanks to dear Bursa people. To provide for more development of Çelik Palas Hotel, which answers a large and a civilized need of Bursa thermal springs, together with the support and auspices of Bursa Municipality, I abandon my share of (34.830) Turkish Lira in the company which the hotel is a part of. At the same time, I have also donated the manor house in the garden of the hotel given to me as a present by Bursa Municipality in the year 1923. The manor house will be used as an annex to the hotel and Bursa Municipality will have the value of the house evaluated, and will procure shares equivalent to its value.
